Staying Creative

Happy with where I am as an artist right now. So much room to grow and so much to learn.

Thanks for sticking around all these years! I appreciate you :)

THOUGHTS: New Music Is Out And I Feel?

I’m very grateful and relaxed now that the new music is out. It’s gotten some really great reviews and people straight up just admire it. It’s rad. I’m looking forward to more people listening to it so I will continue to promote and market the EP as best as possible. Thanks again to everyone who has been paying attention. I appreciate it a lot. Big ups.

THOUGHTS: How I Been Feeling Lately

Got a lot riding on the next few weeks of my career and the pressure is enormous. Trying to take it easy but the pressure keeps building. Looking for a few answers. Pretty sure they are out there yet I need to find them. I can’t back out because I’ve come so far but this is becoming a lot and I probably should slow down the moves and focus on processing the actions as opposed to just acting. You get overwhelmed at times being a creator these days. Expressing yourself at all cost. It isn’t for those who give up easily. I will continue to fight and accomplish what I set out to do. In due time, in due time. Just when you see me, take a second to say great job or something. Get’s a little lonely in the studio making stuff all day. Some words of encouragement go a long way. I’m happy, yes. Just working hard around the clock. Next year will be smoother. Looking forward to it all :)

Who Am I? - A Moment

Who am I?

I am The Josh Craig.

Creator of all sorts.

My mission is to spread the positive vibration towards the direction of those in need of a wake up call to fill the void.

In this life you find yourself questioning the very things that give you a sense of satisfaction as if it isn’t truly guaranteed.

The reasons for the hesitations seem misplaced in heavens basement.

What have we become?

Ahh to hell with devious ones.

I speak what I speak than I sleep when I’m done.

Get back on my feet then I reach for the sun.

Stretch. Reflect. Stretch. Reflect. Stretch. Reflect.

The time has come.

For moments of atonement not to roam for fun.

I am who I am.

I’ll be who I be.

My purpose in this life is to lead those to be free.

Closed Doors: An Artist Statement

Mixing down new music and had a few thoughts. So, here's some personal insight about what im working on.

This song (Where Did U Go) is a bit different from the others on the project. It sounds like my flow all the early fans came to adore. A mix of singing passionate hooks and reciting poetic verses. It's an open minded song about the ways of the world.

As for #ClosedDoors entirely, I feel strongly about how people will receive the project. The melodies are 100% groove. Lyrics are very mature. Vocals don't appear on every song but those w/ them are very majestic. Production is tuned to make vocals the lead as synths take listeners on a deep journey. The late night percussion is human as well as machine based in nature. There's also a ton of field recordings that tell the story.

I plan to convert the digital songs to live w/ my bandmates in Feb/March. There's a few shows on the calender for those looking to see me perform some originals. Anyone who's been to any of my concerts, knows the energy is pure. I'll be announcing short U.S. March/April tour in the forthcoming weeks. Before all that however I'll be at Jupiter Disco 9:30pm Wed Feb 7th . Lets chat in-between my and OG AG sets.

Holla

Hurrican Katrina: A Moment To Reflect

Headed to Hawaii tonight with some Hurricanes in the forecast. That isn't really the thing that concerns me. The thing that concerns me is the fact that 11 years ago today in New Orleans, Louisiana they blew up the levees and let water run ramped do to Hurricane Katrina and there's not one hashtag, post, video or any social media honoring the civilians and rescue teams whose lives were lost during the week of Aug 23 - 31st 2005.

So here I am on social media reading what's trending, reading what I missed while I was away, reading a bunch a fluff just shaking my head like "Really? Nobody is gonna say anything to anybody who may be going thru it this week? Wow." That to me is not using the power of the internet in a personal manner. The thing that connects us all without ever having to leave the comfort of our homes. I think it's a statement as to why arts and entertainment in this country is in the state that it's in. The state of NUMB. It's like we've lost touch with the soul of one another even tho we're all connected under the same irl cloud.

Now I may not comment on all political issues on my website all the time (because I use and interact more on different networks i.e. Twitter) and nor do I have the biggest following or all eyes on me such as these award shows and internet personalities and brands do but for those "follow" me, Don't EVER forget what happened that week in America.

So while ya post about Chris Brown and the new iPhone and whatever happened at whoevers event, I'm gonna take a second to say RIP to the lives lost, ruined and affected during #HurricaneKatrina in the Gulf Coast. You will not be forgotten.

See you in October N'Orleans. Can't wait to go back.

PEACE.
